Bonnie McPeek

1919-2003

Bonnie Lucille McPeek, 84, of Ashland, Ky., died Sunday, May 11, 2003, in Oakmont Manor Nursing Facility.

She was born Jan. 17, 1919, in Carter County, Ky., a daughter of the late George Sherman Griffith and Anna Alberta Riffe Anders.

She was a homemaker and was a former caregiver for the elderly. She was a member of Ashland Baptist Church and FOP of Ashland and was an American Red Cross volunteer.

Surviving are a daughter, Jennifer (Ron) Riley of Ashland; a brother, Thomas Anders of Ashland; three sisters, Eunice Duley and Marcella Rye, both of Ashland, and Joyce Flannery of Elliott County, Ky.; two grandchildren, Deidre (Bryan) Bradley of Russell, Ky., and Sabrina (Matt) Riley of Flatwoods, Ky.; and two great-grandchildren, Joshua and Jordan Riley of Flatwoods.

The funeral will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Steen Funeral Home-Ashland Chapel by Dr. Philip Haney and Ralph Holbrook. Burial will be in Ashland Cemetery Mausoleum.

Friends may call from 5 to 7 tonight at the funeral home.

I have known Bonnie "Lucille" for a number of years, and she was a beautiful lady with a lot of class and a friendly smile. I am so sorry to see that she has left us and will be sadly missed by all those who have known her. Sandra Moore
