Estella Porter
1931-2003
Estella June Horton Porter, 71, of State Route 5, Ashland, Ky., died Tuesday, May 13, 2003, at her residence.
Mrs. Porter was born Dec. 2, 1931, in Ashland, a daughter of the late William Lester and Virginia Gertrude Green Horton.
She was also preceded in death by her husband, William "Pete" Porter, in 2001.
A homemaker, she was a member of Heritage Temple Freewill Baptist Church and was a former member of Order of Eastern Star. She was an avid bowler.
Surviving are a son, William H. "Bill" Porter of Ashland; a daughter, Kaye Porter of Ashland; a brother, Charles Martin "Marty" Horton of Ashland; grandchildren, Monica Jo Keeney, Tommy Joe Keeney, Lisa Kaye Keeney, and Tiffany Kay Keeney; a special stepgranddaughter, Shelly Dawn Wolfe; and five great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, May 16, 2003, at Steen Funeral Home-Marshall Steen Chapel in Ashland by the Rev. Tim York. Burial will be in East Carter Memory Gardens.
Visitation is from 6 to 9 tonight at the funeral home.
