Jim Taylor
1940-2003
James R. "Jim" Taylor, 63, of Westwood, Ky., died Saturday, May 24, 2003, at his residence.
He was born May 12, 1940, in Ashland, Ky., a son of the late Robert Y. and Elvia Johnson Taylor.
He was a retired credit manager for RAM Technologies. He was also a member of the First Baptist Church in Ashland, Poage Masonic Lodge #325 and Elks Lodge B.P.O.E. #350, refereed high school football and ran the scoreboard for Ashland basketball.
His survivors include his wife, Delores Simms Taylor of Westwood; two stepsons, Robert Scarbro of New Mexico and Tracy Steele of Virginia; two daughters, Roberta Taylor (Keith) Parsons of Ashland and Beth Ann Taylor of Coal Grove, Ohio; a stepdaughter, Karen Petry of West Virginia; and 12 grandchildren, Rebekah, Kayla and Monica Parsons, Michelle, Chad, Robert and Jessica Scarbro, Nathan and James Petry and Breana, Elizabeth and Jacob Steele.
The funeral will be held at 3 p.m. Wednesday, May 28, 2003, at Steen Funeral Home-Ashland Chapel by the Rev. Edwin Talley. Burial will be in Ashland Cemetery.
Friends may call from 6 to 9 tonight, May 27, 2003, at the funeral home.
There will be a Masonic service at 7 tonight by Poage Lodge #325 and an Elks service at 7:15 p.m. by Elks Lodge 350.
