Kermit Blackburn

Kermit Blackburn, 88, of Rush, died Friday, June 20, in King's Daughters Medical Center in Ashland.
He was born Dec. 30, 1914, in Huddy, Ky., a son of the late Emery and Ellza Maynard Blackburn.
Mr. Blackburn was a retired coal operator with Semet-Solvay. He was of the Freewill Baptist faith and was a member of the Blue Ribbon Fox Hunters Association.
He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Wilma Moberly Blackburn; one son, Lester Blackburn of Grayson; one daughter, Needa Reid of West Virginia; one stepson, Philip Garvin of Franklin, Ohio; one stepdaughter, Carol Jean Garvin of Raceland; six grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; one stepgrandchild; and two stepgreat-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, June 23, at the Steen Funeral Home-Marshall Steen Chapel in Ashland by the Rev. Clell Lucas. Burial will be in the Klaiber Cemetery.
Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
