Thomas Dyke
1917-2003
Thomas S. Dyke, 86, of Ashland, Ky., died Tuesday, Aug. 5, 2003, at his residence.
He was born Jan. 5, 1917, in Elyria, Ohio, a son of the late Ralph and Leah Shearer Dyke.
He was also preceded in death by his first wife, Mary Powers Wilson Dyke.
He was a retired combustion engineer at Armco Steel Corp. after 38 years. He was a veteran of the Army Air Corps during World War II, and was a member of the Westwood Christian Church, where he was also a deacon, and Beta Theta Pi fraternity at Wittenberg University in Springfield, Ohio.
Surviving are his wife, Claudine Porter Dyke; a son, Thomas W. Dyke (Ann) of Louisville, Ky.; a daughter, Mary "Mimi" Crum (Richard) of Lebanon, Ky.; and five grandchildren, Aaron and Corey Crum of Lebanon, and Hunter, Samuel and Spencer Dyke, all of Louisville.
The funeral will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, Aug. 8, 2003, at Steen Funeral Home-Marshall Steen Chapel in Ashland by David C. Hawthorne, minister. Burial will be in Ashland Cemetery.
Friends may call after 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home.
