Annabelle, George was such fun and I remember him so fondly, I know you and the boys will miss him immeasurably. May God hold you in the hollow of his hand as you grieve and mourn him. I will celebrate his life and remember those funny things we all did so many years ago. Barry Cohen was kind enough to call us and let us know about George's sudden death and knew that although we were far away and hadn't been in touch for many years that we would want to know and pray for you and your family. Fondly, Kathy and Lauren

I am so hurt by George's death. I am an old Pikeville College buddy and I haven't seen George for more than 30 years. But we occasionally talked by phone and e-mail. In fact, I got an e-mail from George the morning of the day of his death, to simply say hello and to joke about old times. I have always been proud of George. I want his family and friends to know that the George Howell I knew in college was the smartest, wittiest and funniest person I knew. I can only imagine the grief everyone close to him feels, and I want you to know that I share only a tiny portion of that pain. I'll miss George. Please know that he had friends far and wide, and that I think he was a super human being. Homer Marcum

George was a good friend and an able colleague. He had a true heart for those who were less fortunate. As bankruptcy trustee, I often got to visit with George before and after his cases. I always looked forward to those times. May God bless his wonderful wife, Annabell, and his two sons. He will always live on in the good memories that we have of him.

There are no words to tell you my sadness. My heart is broken for you and your family in this hour. But I will forever hold a fondness in my heat and a smile because I knew Mr. George Howell. As his UPS driver for so many years, you and George were always a pleasure to see around town. The Deepest of Sympathy....Rich
