Billy "Doc" Rogers, 71, of 2316 Belmont Street, Ashland, Ky., died Monday, Sept. 1, 2003, in King's Daughters Medical Center.
Mr. Rogers was born Sept. 7, 1931, in Ashland, a son of the late Ed and Dova Boggs Rogers.
He was also preceded in death by a sister, Betty Goodlet.
He was the retired co-owner of D&S Body Shop, was a veteran of the U.S. Army, and was a member of Moore Street Tabernacle and Fred M. Gross Masonic Lodge No. 953.
Surviving are his wife, Barbara Anderson Rogers of Ashland; two sons, David Rogers and his wife, Leah, of Huntington, W.Va., and Michael Rogers and his wife, Mindy, of Lexington, Ky.; two grandchildren, Nicholas Rogers and Olivia Rogers; and three nieces, Linda Scott and Karen Goodlet, both of Lexington, and Judy Gallina of Fairdale, Ky.
The funeral will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, Sept. 5, 2003, at Steen Funeral Home-Ashland Chapel by the Rev. Dale Maddy and the Rev. Jerry Dickerson. Burial will be in Bellefonte Memorial Gardens.
Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 4, 2003, at the funeral home.
