Betty Elswick
1933-2003
Betty J. Elswick, 69, of Ashland, Ky., formerly of Michigan, died Friday, Sept. 19, 2003, in King's Daughters Medical Center.
Mrs. Elswick was born Dec. 19, 1933 in Jewell Ridge, Va. She was the daughter of the late Howard Elswick and Mollie White. She was also preceded in death by a sister, Maybelle White.
A devoted mother and grandmother, she was a member of Word of Life Church at South Point, Ohio.
She is survived by two sons, Howard Whitt and Richard Whitt, both of Burton, Mich.; three daughters, Charlotte Ferrington and Loretta Clerkley, both of Flint, Mich., and Kathy Williams of Ashland; four brothers, Pastor Ralph Elswick of South Point, Ohio, and Gene Elswick, Robert White and Perry White, all of Burton, Mich.; two sisters, Ruth Keen of Millington, Mich., and Lona White of Burton, Mich.; eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. today at the Steen Funeral Home-Marshall Steen Chapel in Ashland by Pastor Ralph Elswick. Burial will be in the Pauley Cemetery.
