Jeff Adkins Jr., 75, of Ashland, Ky., died Saturday, Sept. 27, 2003, in King's Daughters Medical Center.
Mr. Adkins was born Nov. 24, 1927, in Ashland, a son of the late Jeff Sr. and Goldie Pack Adkins.
He was also preceded in death by a brother, Wallace Adkins; and a sister, Gail Hall.
His survivors include his wife, Loretta Alfrey Adkins of Ashland; two daughters, Sheila (Jack) Speaks of Swartz Creek, Mich., and Vicki (Steve) Wesolowski of Richmond, Ky.; three brothers, David Adkins of North Carolina, Jim Adkins of Columbus, Ohio, and Bob Adkins of Ashland; four sisters, Mary Fisher of Bellefonte, Betty Highfield of Ashland, Phyllis Dickison of Nicholasville, Ky., and Christine Wright of Portage, Ind.; and four grandchildren, Kelli Livingston, Todd Speaks, Krista Hampton, and Brandon Jessie; and five great-grandchildren.
He was a retired CSX clerk, was a member of Moore Street Tabernacle, and was an U.S. Army World War II veteran.
The funeral will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 30, 2003, at Steen Funeral Home-Ashland Chapel by the Rev. Dale Maddy and Krista Hampton. Burial will be in Ashland Cemetery with military rites by American Legion Post 93.
