John A. Shutt Jr., 67, of Ashland, Ky., died Wednesday, Oct. 8, 2003, in Greenbrier Health Care Center in Wheelersburg, Ohio.
Mr. Shutt was born Nov. 9, 1935, in Strasburg, Ohio, a son of the late John Adrian Jr. and Grace Marie Strouse Shutt.
He was retired from AEP Building Maintenance, was a member of Rose Hill Baptist Church, was a graduate of Ashland Junior College and loved football and NASCAR events. He was also a member of the Kentucky National Guard.
Surviving are his wife, Yvonne Ritchie Shutt; a son, Shane Shutt of South Point, Ohio; two daughters, Tammy Shutt Burns (Earl) of Chesapeake, Ohio, and Trisha Shutt Hurst (Brian) of Erlanger, Ky.; five grandchildren, Felicity Shutt, Taija Shutt, Tiana Shutt, Shawn Burns and Kirsten Hurst; and two great-grandsons, Bryce Shutt and Blake Shutt.
The funeral will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 11, 2003, at Steen Funeral Home-Marshall Steen Chapel in Ashland by Pastor Greg Aldridge. Burial will be in Highland Memorial Gardens.
