Freda Allene Bush McGarey
1922-2003
Allene Bush McGarey, 81, of Ashland, Ky., passed away Oct. 28, 2003, in King's Daughters Medical Center in Ashland.
Mrs. McGarey was born June 1, 1922, in Siloam in Greenup County, Ky., a daughter of the late William H. and Lydia May Allen Bush.
She was also preceded in death by her husband, Paul R. McGarey, in 1992, and a brother, Carroll Bush.
A loving mother and homemaker, she was a member of Old Orchard Church of Christ.
Surviving Mrs. McGarey are two sons, Paul E. (Jeanne) McGarey and Melvin Dale (Cheryl) McGarey, both of Ashland; a brother, George W. (Wanda) Bush of Melbourne, Ky.; three grandchildren, Megin (Dan) McGarey Oliver of Cincinnati, Jason (Andrea) McGarey of Chesapeake, Va., and Amy McGarey of Georgetown, Ky.; and five great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 31, 2003, at Steen Funeral Home-Ashland Chapel on Central Avenue by the Rev. Kenneth Vaughn. Burial will be in Ashland Cemetery.
Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 30, 2003, at the funeral home.
