Cora Victoria Blair

1938-2003

Cora Victoria Blair of Ashland, Ky., our loving mother, went to be with the Lord on Nov. 9, 2003, at her home with her children, grandchildren and family by her side.

She was born in Lawrence County, Ky., on Oct. 2, 1938, a daughter of the late James Monroe and Vessie Mae O'Bryan Castle. She was of the Baptist faith.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James E. Blair.

Surviving are her two sons, James (Stacey) Blair of Pontiac, Mich., and Dwain (Brenda) Blair; two daughters, Vickie (Greg) Thompson and Gloria Blair, all of Ashland; nine grandchildren, Britton Blair, Jamie Thompson, Sarah Thompson, Ronnie Thompson, Nicholas Thompson, Christopher Blair, Corey Blair and Lyndsey Blair, all of Ashland, and Jared Nelson of Pontiac; one great-grandson, Camren Muncy; two brothers, Thomas Glenn Castle of Rochester Hills, Mich., and Lonnie Paul Castle of Pontiac; five sisters, Adeline Lee Castle of Ashland, Jewell Lemaster of Pontiac, LouVernie Blinn of Live Oaks, Fla., Beatrice Mabry of Olive Hill, Ky., and Janet Bishop of Ironton, Ohio; and lots of nieces and nephews.

She was also preceded in death by a granddaughter, Victoria Nicole Thompson; two brothers, Aubry Eugene Castle and Hoyt E. Castle; and one sister, Maxine Hurst. She will be sadly missed by all and remembered always.

Funeral services will be Thursday, Nov. 13, 2003, at 1 p.m. at Steen Funeral Home-Ashland Chapel and officiated by Pastor Clell Lucas. Burial will follow in Golden Oaks Memorial Gardens.

Family and friends may call Wednesday, Nov. 12, from 6 to 9 p.m.

Arrangements are under the direction of Steen Funeral Home-Ashland Chapel and assisted by the Oney-Henderson Funeral Home in Olive Hill.
