Jessie C. Moore
1915-2003
Jessie C. Moore, 88, of Ashland, Ky., died Sunday, Dec. 21, 2003, in Woodland Oaks Health Care Facility.
She was born Nov. 18, 1915, in Magoffin County, Ky., a daughter of the late James Blaine and Lola Cooper Collinsworth.
She was also preceded in death by her former husband, Joseph B. Moore Jr.; two brothers, Edward Collinsworth and Hargess Collinsworth; and a sister, Tressie DeHart.
She was retired from C.H. Parsons Department Store, was a member of First Baptist Church in Ashland, where she was a member of Amona Sunday school class, was a Kentucky colonel, and was a homemaker and loving mother.
Surviving are three sons, Joseph B. Moore III and his wife, Kathy, of Prospect, Ky., and Bruce M. Moore and his wife, Lynn, and Richard L. Moore and his wife, Jane, all of Ashland; two daughters, Linda Moon and her husband, Edward of Russell, Ky., and Gail Frazier and her husband, William, of Ashland; a sister, Minnie Jennings of Asheville, N.C.; nine grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
A private graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 24, 2003, at Ashland Cemetery Mausoleum Chapel by the Rev. Jack Edwards. Burial will be in Ashland Cemetery.
Friends may call from 6 to 8 tonight, Dec. 23, 2003, at Steen Funeral Home-Central Avenue Chapel in Ashland.
