Lewis C. "Lew" Fugett

1916-2004

Lewis C. "Lew" Fugett, 87, of Ashland, Ky., died Thursday, Jan. 8, 2004, at his residence.

He was born Dec. 4, 1916, in Ironton, Ohio, a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. John Fugett.

He was also preceded in death by his wife, Bonnie Browning Fugett.

A retired employee of Allied Chemical, he was a World War II Army veteran and was a member of Eagles in Ashland and American Legion Post No. 76.

Surviving are three sons, Carlos Fugett of Ironton, Rick (Susan) Fugett of Nashville, Tenn., and Steve Fugett; two stepsons, Raymond Jr. (Danelle) Stewart of Huntington, W.Va., and Robert (Shirley) Spencer of Dallas; two stepdaughters, Sandy (Richard) Webb and Debbie Stewart, both of Ashland; grandchildren, Rebecca Fugett, Bobby Fugett, Bruce Fugett, Ryan Fugett, Barry Stewart, Missy Nichols, Todd Boyd, Cheri Paugh, Foster Martinez, Christopher Spencer, John Spencer and Isabella Spencer; great-grandchildren, J.R. Fugett, Caden Nichols, Jenna Nichols, Shaleigh Boyd, Breanna Paugh, and Christian Paugh; and a special friend, Eugene Unrue.

The funeral will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, Jan. 12, 2004, at Steen Funeral Home-Central Avenue Chapel in Ashland by Dr. Dale Maddy.

Friends may call from 6 to 9 tonight at the funeral home.

Lew was the best friend I ever had. I worked beside him doing plumbing,and home repairs.He will be missed by my family but never forgotten . lew & Bonnie were great people. And never can be replaced. We love you Lew, George
