Mabel Irene O'Neal

Mabel Irene O'Neal, 80, of Bonita Springs, Fla., formerly of Ashland, Ky., died Sunday, Feb. 1, 2004, in Hospice Care Facility in Ashland.
Mrs. O'Neal was born April 8, 1923, in Louisa, Ky., a daughter of the late Jim and Geneva Thompson Hardwick.
She was also preceded in death by her husband, Clem Wesley O'Neal in 1986.
She was the former owner and operator of O'Neals Five and Dime on 29th Street, was an artist, and was formerly employed with the Flamingo Island Flea Market in Bonita Springs.
She attended Heritage Temple Freewill Baptist Church, and was a member of American Kennel Club, the Huntington, W.Va. Kennel Club, and Lions Club.
Surviving are a son, Danny O'Neal and his wife, Anna Lois, of Garrett, Ky.; a daughter, Carol Hall and her husband, Mike, of Catlettsburg, Ky.; a sister, Ethlyn Lyons of Louisa; five grandchildren, Christopher Lang and his wife, Lori, Samantha Lang, Dustin Hall, Randy O'Neal and Michael Hall; and a very special nephew, Larry Hardwick of Louisa.
The funeral will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 4, 2004, at Steen Funeral Home-Marshall Steen Chapel in Ashland by Dr. Tim York. Burial will be in Rose Hill Burial Park.
