Walter Eric McKinney Jr.

Walter Eric McKinney Jr., 85, of Ashland, Ky., went to be with the Lord on Sunday morning, Feb. 22, 2004, in King's Daughters Medical Center.
He was born April 26, 1918, in Madison, W.Va., a son of the late Walter Sr. and Sarah Pauley McKinney.
He was also preceded in death by his first wife, Jewell.
He was a retired driver with Yellow Cab Co. in Ashland, was a member of Old Orchard Church of Christ and was a World War II Army veteran.
His survivors include his wife of 32 years, Emma Sue "Susie" McKinney of Ashland; a daughter, Maxine (Elijah) Kelly of South Charleston, W.Va.; three grandchildren, Natina Chin, Beth Mitchell and Dana Kelly; and four great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Steen Funeral Home-Central Avenue Chapel in Ashland by Chaplain Philip Stephens of Kingsbrook Lifecare Center, where he was a resident for the past year and Dr. James Girdwood. Burial will be in Rose Hill Burial Park with a military service by American Legion Post No. 93 of Kenova.
