Martha L. Adams
1938-2004
Martha L. Adams, 65, of Wurtland Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, died Feb. 21, 2004, in Kings Daughters Medical Center.
She was born Dec. 31, 1938, in Boyd County, Ky., the daughter of the late Ethelbert and Rachael Jane Moore Hicks.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence "Cecil" Adams, in 1999.
Mrs. Ison was a member of Central Baptist Church in Ashland and TOPS.
She was an LPN with King's Daughters Medical Center and also with Elmwood Village.
Her survivors include a son, Thomas W. Adams of Ashland, Ky.; a daughter, Connie Adams (Richard L. Palmer Jr.) Palmer of Ashland; one brother, Sam Hicks of Ashland; a sister Sharon Hochhausler of Leesburg, Ohio; and two grandchildren, Rebecca Adams and Ashley Palmer.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Monday, Feb. 23, 2004, at Central Baptist Church by the Rev. Joed Rice and the Rev. A.J. Toney. Burial will be in Golden Oaks Memorial Gardens in Ashland.
Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. today at Steen Funeral Home-Central Avenue Chapel. The body will lie in state on Monday from noon to 1 p.m. at the church.
