John Ralph Chafin
1917-2004
John Ralph Chafin, 86, of Ashland, Ky., died Monday, Feb. 23, 2004, in King's Daughters Medical Center.
He was born Dec. 17, 1917, in Borderland, W.Va., a son of the late John Roscoe and Dixie Hatfield Chafin.
He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Edward R. Chafin and Gay Harold Chafin.
He was owner operator of Chafin Realty and was a member of Church of Christian Science in Huntington, W.Va., and Poage Masonic Lodge No. 325.
Surviving are a daughter, Judith Ann Chafin Armstrong of St. Petersburg, Fla.; a sister, Virginia Chafin Little of Chickasha, Okla.; a sister-in-law, Juanita Chafin of Ashland; and two nieces, Gayle Lynn Chafin Fleming of Ashland and Carol Ann Chafin Suttles of Flatwoods, Ky.
A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, Feb. 27, 2004 at Greenlawn Cemetery in Louisa by the Rev. Lauri Strait.
There is no visitation.

There will be a Masonic service by Poage Lodge 325 Friday at the graveside.
