Walter Tolliver
1927-2004
Walter O. Tolliver, 76, of Ashland, died Sunday, March 14, 2004, at his residence.
Mr. Tolliver was born April 12, 1927, in Ashland, and was a son of the late Walter Sheridan and Maude Slusher Tolliver.
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by three brothers, Roy Tolliver, Vernon Tolliver and Lacy Tolliver; and two sisters, Carolee Jackson and Edna Shelton.
Walter was an honest man that never found the limits of giving to others when they needed help. He was loved by both his family and those who knew him.
He was retired, was a member of Westwood Wesleyan Church, and was a World War II Merchant Marine veteran.
Surviving are his wife, Marion Lucille Walters Tolliver of Ashland; two sons, Michael Tolliver and his wife, Tammy, of Independence, Ky., and Chuck Tolliver of Orlando, Fla.; two daughters, Martha Polly Ann Tolliver and Katinka Oralene Tolliver Pflugh and her husband, John, all of Independence; 10 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 16, 2004, at Steen Funeral Home-Central Avenue Chapel by the Rev. Philip Zimmerman. Burial will be in Ashland Cemetery.
