Della McFarland Perkins
1917-2004
Della McFarland Perkins, age 87, of Ashland, Ky., went to be with Jesus her Lord and Savior, on April 25, 2004, in Our Lady of Bellefonte Hospital.
Mrs. Perkins was born Jan. 16, 1917, in Ashland, a daughter of the late John and Nelia Baer McFarland.
She was also preceded in death by her husband, Jack Perkins, in 2000.
A homemaker, she formerly worked in a container factory in Pennsylvania and at Clayton Lambert ammunition plant for WWII efforts. Her husband was serving in the Navy at this time also.
She was a member of Unity Baptist Church.
Surviving are two daughters, Alice Perkins Blankenship and Sandra A. Perkins, both of Ashland; three sons, Darrell G. Perkins (Jeannie), Allen Jack Perkins (Nancy), and Robert A. Perkins (Shirlee), all of Ashland; a sister, Zella Tackett of Willard, Ohio; grandchildren, Debbie Qualls, Patty Hall, Beverly Fields, Gene Perkins, Jessica Blankenship Byrd, Roger Perkins, Robbie Perkins, Chris Perkins, Allen Perkins and Ann Hutchison; and 16 great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 28, 2004, at Steen Funeral Home-Marshall Steen Chapel in Ashland by Dr. Floyd Paris and the Rev. Ted Hall. Burial will be in Rose Hill Burial Park.
Friends may call from 5 to 9 tonight, April 27, 2004, at the funeral home.
