Fred Wells
1941-2004
Fred L. Wells, age 62, of Ashland, Ky., died Tuesday, May 4, 2004, at his residence.
Mr. Wells was born July 18, 1941, in Carter County, Ky., a son of the late Lunda and Lois Glass Wells.
He was retired from Armco Steel with 30 years of service. He was a member of Old Orchard Church of Christ, was a devoted husband, father, and brother, was an avid gardner and animal lover, and was a former member of the National Guard.
Surviving are his wife, Rosalene (Rose) Chaffin Wells of Ashland; a daughter, Melora Leigh Wells, who is a senior at the University of Tennessee in Knoxville, Tenn., and her fiance, Corey Morgan of Knoxville; a brother, Marion Wells and his wife, Vonnie of Grayson, Ky.; a sister, Sue Hillman and her husband, John, of South Point, Ohio; and a host of family and friends, including a very special nephew, Rick Wells.
The funeral will be held at noon Friday, May 7, 2004, at the Steen Funeral Home-Marshall Steen Chapel in Ashland by Dr. James Girdwood. Burial will be in Rose Hill Burial Park.
