Stella Hickman
1922-2004
Stella Lucille Skaggs Hickman, age 82, of Ashland, Ky., died Wednesday, May 19, 2004, in Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland.
Mrs. Hickman was born March 11, 1922, in Ironton, Ohio, a daughter of the late Joseph Roscoe and Gracie Mary Brewer Skaggs.
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Hugh Arnold Hickman in 1986; two sons, James Robert and Arnold Michael Hickman; two brothers, Fredrick Roscoe and Paul Edward Skaggs; and a sister, Myra Irene Skaggs.
A homemaker, she was a member of the International Pentecostal Church of Christ in Ashland.
Her survivors include four daughters, Sharon Kay (Frank) Stapleton, Beverly Ann (David) Gamble, Linda Lucille Gamble and Kimberly Dawn Hickman; a son, Paul Clinton (Rebecca) Hickman; two sisters, Florence Louise Boyd and Helen Ruth Adkins; 10 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, May 23, 2004, at 39th Street Pentecostal Church by Pastor Cline McCallister. Burial will be in Oldfield Cemetery in Greenup County, Ky.
Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. Saturday, May 22, 2004, at Steen Funeral Home-Central Avenue Chapel in Ashland.
