William Hubert "Barlow Bill" Woods, age 91, of Ashland, Ky., died Thursday, June 24, 2004, in Oakmont Manor Nursing Facility in Flatwoods, Ky.
Mr. Woods was born July 9, 1912, in Lawrence County, Ky., a son of the late Harlan E. and Martha Riffe Woods.
He was also preceded in death by his wife, Mary Pauline Cooksey Woods in 1997; and a sister, Kathleen R. Hammond.
He was a retired operator with the Ashland Oil No. 1 Refinery with 33 years of service. He was a member of P.A.C.E. Local 5-214 and Senior Songbirds Choir, and was an avid knife collector and trader.
His survivors include a daughter, Elveda Woods (Larry G.) Womack of Greenup, Ky.; two sons, William Allen (Betty) Woods of Worthington, Ky., and Larry Eugene Woods of Ashland; two sisters, Mary Pauline Coburn and Eloise Thornbury, both of Ashland; four grandchildren, Monty A. (Gina) Woods, Mike (Jerri) Womack, Larry H. Woods and Mary B. (Steve) Brackman; and two great-grandchildren, Larry Michael Womack and Keith William (Will) Womack.
The funeral will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at Steen Funeral Home-Central Avenue Chapel in Ashland by the Rev. Donald E. Young. Burial will be in Rose Hill Burial Park.
