Mary Kate Wyatt, 85, of Ashland, Ky., died Thursday, Aug. 26, 2004, at her residence following an extended illness.
Mrs. Wyatt was born Feb. 27, 1919, in Tazewell, Va., a daughter of the late William Gordon and Lou Clyburn Conley.
She was also preceded in death by her husband, James Robert Wyatt Sr., in 1983.
She retired from Ames Department Store and was a former employee of G.C. Murphy and Sears.
A Methodist by faith, she was a volunteer for Red Cross Bloodmobile, Meals on Wheels and Community Kitchen and was a devoted mother.
Surviving are a daughter, Shirley Plymale of Ashland; two sons, Ron Waldron of Houston and James Robert Wyatt Jr. of Gastonia, N.C.; a brother, William Brittain Conley of Erie, Pa.; a sister, Jackie Case of Tazewell; five grandchildren, Mike Early, Katie Plymale, Britton Waldron, Tammy Branham and Viva Waldron; and two great-grandchildren, Kamryn Finley and Britton Waldron Jr.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Steen Funeral Home-Central Avenue Chapel in Ashland by Chaplain Jimm Smedley. Burial will be in Golden Oaks Memorial Gardens.
Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
