1935 - 2004

James "Jim" Alex Wedding, 69, of Ashland, Ky., beloved companion of Clara Y. Smith, passed away Saturday, Aug. 28, 2004, in Appalachian Regional Hospital in South Williamson, Ky.

He was born April 21, 1935, in Washington, D.C., the son of the late Doris Wedding Bohr.

He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean and Vietnam wars. He retired from the Army after serving 23 years and also retired from the State of West Virginia.

He was a member of the Elks Lodge BPOE 350, American Legion Post 76 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 8850. He attended Normal Presbyterian Church in Ashland.

Surviving are his daughter, Megan, and her husband, Andy Reinholt, of Martinsburg, W.Va.; a son, James Michael Wedding of Baltimore, Md.; two stepdaughters, Sherri, and her husband, Edward Reasner, of Middletown, Pa., and Karen and her husband, Roy Justice, of Ransom, Ky.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 1, 2004, at the Steen Funeral Home-Central Avenue Chapel, 1501 Central Ave. in Ashland, with the Rev. Susan Alley officiating. Entombment will be in Rose Hill Cemetery Mausoleum in Ashland.

Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 31, 2004, at the funeral home. Military rites will be by American Legion Post 93.

Friends may make contributions to Normal Presbyterian Church, 4316 Winchester Ave., Ashland, KY 41101.
