Frances M. Beilharz, 82, of Ashland, Ky., died Monday, Sept. 13, 2004, at her residence.
She was born June 17, 1922, in Harrodsburg, Ky., a daughter of the late Otho and Belle Veatch Mitchell.
She worked as a lab technician at Ashland Oil Aviation Gasoline Plant and later at John Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore. She also taught home economics in the Ashland Public Schools.
She was a member and former vestry person of Calvary Episcopal Church in Ashland, chairperson of Edith Wade Sewing Guild, and chairperson of the Building Committee after the fire which destroyed the Parish Hall. She was a graduate of Eastern Kentucky University with a bachelor's degree in home economics and a longtime member of Friends of the Children, Meals on Wheels and Paramount Women's Association.
Surviving are her husband, William G. Beilharz, whom she married on Sept. 14, 1946; a daughter, Mary B. Crowley of Ashland; and grandchildren, Mitchell Ann Crowley and Michael B. Crowley, both of Ashland.
The funeral will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 16, 2004, at Calvary Episcopal Church in Ashland by the Rev. Mann S. Valentine VI. Burial will be in Ashland Cemetery.
Friends may call from 6 to 8 tonight, Sept. 15, 2004, at Steen Funeral Home-Central Avenue Chapel in Ashland.
