I had Mrs. Klaiber as an english teacher at Boyd county high and am very sorry to read of her passing. I will briefly relate a few memories. Sorry that I am not eloquent. It is no reflection on her teaching, I assure. Once she told a story of going on the first date with her husband. She used those eyelash curling tools. She must have overexerted herself because upon inspection the eyelashes were severed. Mrs Klaiber said that she was never so self conscious. I thought that was funny. Mrs Klaiber was a slender petite woman and got cold easily. Once she asked me for my woolish jacket. I handed it over. It was weird seeing her wear it. After five minutes I remembered that I had contraband cigarettes in the pocket. It was a long class. Condolences to the family.

Dear Steve and Family,
Bob and I were so shocked and saddened to hear of Linda's death. I didn't know that she had been ill, so it truly came as a shock. It's been many years since I saw Linda, so I still think of her as she was in high school, almost always with a smile on her face, really enjoying herself. We learned of Linda's passing when Libby Blanton called to tell us. I also spoke to Carolyn Castle, who was equally upset to hear the news. Carolyn lives in Berea now and works for Berea College.
Bob and I have lived in the Atlanta area for almost 18 years now. We have 2 children. Our son Chris is 23 and our daughter Jill is 20.
Please extend our sympathy to the rest of your family. You are in our thoughts and prayers.
Your friends,
Debbie and Bob

Stevie,
I worked with your mother for five years, and, during that time, I was constantly amazed at her inner strength and self-discipline and impressed by her beauty, wit, and intelligence. I often wished I could be more like her. I also found the way she spoke of you particularly touching. She thought of you as a gift and blessing from God. I know losing her was a tremendous loss for you, but I hope you can find some comfort in knowing how many lives she touched in a positive way. I will remember your family in my prayers.

Mr. Klaiber:
Now living in Louisville, I was deeply moved when I read of Mrs. Klaiber's passing in the Ashland Daily Independent.
I was fortunate to have Mrs. Klaiber for 8th and 9th grade English at Summit Jr. High School back in 1982 and 1983. Your wife was a beautiful woman, and it was her belief in me that inspired me to major in English at college. Without her constantly "pushing" me to strive to do my best, I would not have the college degree or the job position I have now. Shortly after graduation I wrote her a thank you note, reflecting on her encouragement to me.
She's an angel - and I vision her arms outstretched and on each hand, a white glove with fingertips covered in yellow chalk. I adored her. She will always be my "Inspiration."

Watching Linda's couragous battle these last few years has made me realize that not only was she beautiful, loyal and funny, she had one of the strongest wills I have ever witnessed. Her faith never wavered, her beauty never faded, her courage never ceased.
I am reminded of the words of the Apostle Paul. She fought the fight, she kept the faith, she finished the race. May she forever rest in peace.

Mr. Klaiber, you may not remember me as I know you and Mrs. Klaiber have seen a lot of students come and go over the years. I did want to let you know how very special your wife was to me as her former student. Please accept my deepest sympathy at this time and know she will always be remembered by me as a truly generous and compassionate teacher. God bless and comfort you.
