Elizabeth Harrell Lowe - 1915-2004

Elizabeth Harrell Lowe, 89, of Ashland, died Friday, Oct. 22, 2004, at the residence of her daughter, Ann Detjen of Lexington.
Mrs. Lowe was born June 19, 1915, at Suffolk, Va., a daughter of the late Theodore C. and Ruth Jones Harrell. She was also preceded in death by her husband, William Bennett Lowe, her half brother, Curtis P. Harrell, and a sister, Doris P. Harrell.
Mrs. Lowe was a member of First Baptist Church of Ashland. She attended Western Kentucky State University, Bowling Green Business College and Marshall University. She worked 14 years in the accounting department of American Electric Power Co. She may also be remembered as a substitute teacher in the Ashland school system.
Mrs. Lowe also is survived by a grandson, Nicholas Michael Detjen of Lexington.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 26, at Steen Funeral Home-Central Avenue Chapel with Pastor Edwin Talley officiating.
Burial will be in Ashland Cemetery.
Friends may call from 1 to 2 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 26, at the funeral home.
