Ida M. Arthur Childs, of Ashland, Ky., died Friday, Nov. 26, 2004, in King's Daughters Medical Center.
She was born in Lawrence County, Ky., a daughter of the late Calip and Nellie Riffe Arthur.
She was also preceded in death by her husband, Howard W. Childs in 1968; a daughter, Mary Sue (Sudie) Cassell; a brother, William P. Arthur; and a sister, Mary Arthur Selbee.
She was a member of Pollard Baptist Church and was a Kentucky colonel.
Surviving are a daughter, Sheila Childs of Ashland.
The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 28, 2004, at Steen Funeral Home-Central Avenue Chapel in Ashland by the Rev. Dale Carden. Burial will be in Ashland Cemetery.
Friends may call from 1 to 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 28, 2004, at the funeral home.
