James W. "Jimmy" Arthur -1940-2004

James W. "Jimmy" Arthur, 64, of Ashland, Ky., died Saturday, Nov. 27, 2004, in the VA Medical Center in Huntington, W.Va.

Mr. Arthur was born May 24, 1940, in Ashland, the son of the late James W. "Bill" Arthur Sr. and Vertrees Dora Alley Arthur.

He retired with 20 years of service in the United States Air Force and was a member of the VFW and American Legion Kenova Post 93.

His survivors include his wife of 42 years, Verna Epperson Arthur of Ashland; two daughters, Belinda Leigh Davis of Ashland and Jeanette Parker and her husband, Randy, of Jacksonville, N.C.; one son, Jeremy Lee Arthur of Ashland; and five grandchildren, David Ferreby of Elkins, W.Va., Kyle W. Litteral, Troy A. Litteral and Jamie M. Litteral, all of Ashland, and Ricky T. Parker of Jacksonville, N.C.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Monday at the Steen Funeral Home-Central Avenue Chapel in Ashland. Burial will follow in the Ashland Cemetery.

Military services will be conducted by the American Legion Kenova Post 93.

Visitation is from 6 to 8 tonight at the funeral home.

Dad doesn't have any messages on his page. Lets change that. I learned what you'd been doing with the 6514th Test Squadron that you said you couldn't talk about. Very cool stuff.
