Joseph F. Kleykamp, 80, of Lexington, Ky., formerly of Russell, died Feb. 10, 2005, in Mayfair Manor in Lexington.

Mr. Kleykamp was born March 1,1924, in Ashland, Ky., a son of the late Gayheart C. Sr. and Minnie Appleton Kleykamp

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Don Kleykamp Sr. and Gayheart Kleykamp Jr., and his sister, Dorothy Hurst.

Mr. Kleykamp retired from Armco Steel Corp. and was an Army Air Corps veteran of World War II.

His survivors include his wife, Clara Keaton Kleykamp of Lexington; two sons, Charles Frederick Kleykamp and his wife, Lois, of Clinton, Conn., and Joseph K. Kleykamp and his wife, Debbie, of Lexington; one brother, Dr. Paul Kleykamp of Ashland; one sister, Catherine Layne of California; four grandchildren, Meredith Kleykamp, Tyler Kleykamp, Scott Kleykamp and Trish Kleykamp; and two great-grandchildren.

Funeral services in honor of Mr. Kleykamp will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 15, 2005, at Steen Funeral Home-Central Avenue Chapel in Ashland with the Rev. Steve Gray officiating. Burial will be in Rose Hill Burial Park.

Visitation is from noon until service time on Tuesday at the funeral home.
