Martha L. Deakins, 89, of Ashland, Ky., died Sunday, March 13, 2005, in King's Daughters Medical Center surrounded by the following nieces and nephews: Cecilia Powell, Vicky and Bill Cleghorn, Vic Richter, Doug Smith and James Marchal.
Mrs. Deakins was born Dec. 27, 1915, in Shelby County, Ky., a daughter of the late John Breckinridge and Martha Elizabeth MacDonald Wilson.
She was also preceded in death by her husband, Curtis Wesley Deakins Sr.; and a son, Curtis Wesley Deakins Jr.
She was a homemaker and a member of Wildwood Baptist Church in Ashland.
Surviving are many other nieces, nephews and friends.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Evergreen Funeral Home in Louisville by the Rev. Jim Nichols. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery in Louisville.
Friends may call from 3 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Steen Funeral Home-Central Avenue Chapel in Ashland and from 1 to 4 and 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at Evergreen Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Community Hospice, 1538 Central Ave., Ashland, KY 41101.
