Kenneth Porter "Tad" Swift

Kenneth Porter "Tad" Swift, 76, of Ashland, Ky., died April 3, 2005, at his daughter's residence in Roswell, Ga., following an extended illness.
He was born in Ashland and was the son of the late Walter C. and Anne Porter Swift.
He was also preceded in death by his wife, Phyllis Muncy Swift; and a brother, Walter G. Swift.
He worked at Armco Steel in the industrial engineering department. He was a member of Ashland First Church of God, was a lifelong Ashlander, was an incredible student of the Bible, taught Sunday School at three area churches over the past 27 years, and was a wonderful and devoted father and grandfather.
Surviving are a daughter, Lisa Bryan and her husband, Joe, of Roswell; two sons, Mark Swift and his wife, Laureen, of Ashland, and Greg Swift and his wife, Twanna, of Jacksonville, Fla.; and six grandchildren, Connor and Slater Swift, Brittney and Kayla Swift and Hayley and Hannah Bryan.
The funeral will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, April 8, 2005, at First Church of God in Ashland by the Rev. Tom Pelt. Burial will be in Ashland Cemetery.
Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday, April 7, 2005, at Steen Funeral Home-Marshall Steen Chapel in Ashland and from noon until service time at the church on Friday.
