Mary Lois Ramey, 75, of Ashland, Ky., died Monday, May 16, 2005, at her residence.

Mrs. Ramey was born Jan. 8, 1930, in Carter County, Ky., a daughter of the late Elgan and Ethel Kibbey Blevins.

She was also preceded in death by her husband, Fred W. Ramey Sr., who died in 1992; and two brothers, Carl Blevins and Orville Elton Blevins.

She was a licensed practical nurse at King's Daughters Medical Center and a member of Oakland Avenue Baptist Church in Catlettsburg, Ky.

Surviving are six daughters, Susie Moots and her husband, John, of Sandusky, Ohio, Sharon Hixon and her husband, Patrick, of Springfield, Ohio, Anna Quillen and her husband, Steven, of Tucson, Ariz., Diane Brown and her husband, Bob, of South Shore, Ky., Judy Brewer and her husband, James, of Winchester, Ky., and Teresa Blevins and her husband, Frank, of Ashland; two sons, Ronnie Stephens of Greenup, Ky., and Buddy Stephens of Tucson, Ariz.; two brothers, E.W. Blevins and his wife, Mary Lewis, and Vernal Ray Blevins and his wife, Jo Ann, all of Grayson, Ky.; a sister-in-law, Mary Frances Blevins; 12 grandchildren, Davey, Doug, Melissa, Lisa, Naomi, Angie, Dean, Rhonda, Ericka, Joey, J.J. and Ashley; and 12 great-grandchildren.

The funeral will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 18, 2005, at Steen Funeral Home-Central Avenue Chapel in Ashland by the Rev. Philip Duncan. Burial will be in Ashland Cemetery.

Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
