I am sorry for your loss. I understand this is a difficult time for family and friends. I have learned to draw comfort from the bible. Romans 15:4 states 'For all things that were written aforetime were written for our instruction, that through our endurance and through the comfort of the scriptures we might have hope'. The bible tells us that one day God will end sickness and death. Revelation 21:4 states 'and he will wipe out every tear from their eyes and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away'. Through my study of the bible I have also come to appreciate the resurrection. Scriptures such as John 5:28,29 and Acts 24:15 tell of a resurrection. It is the resurrection that will give us the oppurtunity to be reunited with our loved ones again. We can place our confidence in the resurrection because Acts 17:31 tells us that God furnishes a guarantee to all in that he resurrected him from the dead. "Him" is Jesus Christ. I hope these words bring you hope.
