Martha G. "Marty" Wessel, 47, of Ashland, Ky., died July 12, 2005, in King's Daughters Medical Center.
She was born Sept. 6, 1957, in Spartanburg, S.C., a daughter of Luther Cash of Ashland and the late Naomi Camp Cash.
A devoted homemaker, she was a Christian at heart who had formerly served as the chaplain for the Ladies of the Moose in Ashland.
Additional survivors include her husband, Tom Wessel of Ashland; a daughter, Amanda Elizabeth Wessel of Ashland; a stepdaughter, Heather Marie Wessel of South Carolina; a stepson, Michael Wade Wessel of Ohio; a sister whom she raised, Elizabeth "Beth" Semones of Ashland; and three stepgrandchildren.
The funeral will be noon Friday at Steen Funeral Home-Central Avenue Chapel in Ashland by Chaplain Rob Barker. Burial will be in Golden Oaks Memorial Gardens.
Friends may call from 11 a.m. to noon Friday at the funeral home.
