Charles P. Hall Sr., 84, of Cannonsburg, Ky., went home to be with his Heavenly Father at his residence on Tuesday morning, Aug. 16, 2005.

Mr. Hall was born March 1, 1921, in Princess, Ky., a son of the late Gaylord and Alice Stevens Hall.

He was also preceded in death by his wife, Helen Marie Click Hall, who passed away in 1997; and a brother, Jack Hall.

He retired from Teamsters Local 505 in 1982 and since his retirement has enjoyed fishing, hunting and gardening. He served in the U.S. Army Military Police Unit for five years, one month and 11 days during World War II and was a member of the American Legion Post 76 of Ashland.

Surviving are a daughter, Linda Murphy of Ashland; two sons, Charles P. Hall Jr. (Barb) of Prestonsburg, Ky., and Mike Hall (Pam) of Cannonsburg; five sisters, Zula Louise Borders of Columbus, Ohio, and Lillian Ann Waugh, Mary Lou Neece, Gracie Allen Stafford, and Helen Sue Harmon, all of Ashland, Ky.; grandchildren Joey Murphy of Ashland, DeAnna Holliday (Shawn) of Coal Grove, Ohio, Charlie Hall of Greenup, Ky., James David Hall and Jason Hall, both of Lexington, Ky., and Tiffany and Alyssa Hall, both of Ashland; stepgrandson Bobby Brantley of Cannonsburg; and great-grandchildren Clinton Meadows, Cody Gool, P.J. Holliday, Shian Hall and Cole Hall.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Aug. 19, 2005, at Princess Chapel Church by the Rev. Clell Lucas. Burial will be in Coalton Cemetery.

Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the church.

Kenova American Legion Post 93 will conduct military services.

Friends may make contributions to Community Hospice, 1538 Central Ave., Ashland, KY 41101.
