Grace Elizabeth McGinnis, 78, of Ashland, Ky., entered into eternal rest on Sept. 8, 2005, at her home.

She was born Jan. 12, 1927, to the late Peter Christian Beseler Sr. and the late Wilhelmina Sophia Springer in Huntington, W.Va.

She married Robert Lee McGinnis on March 1, 1947, who survives at home.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by an infant son, Robert Lee Jr.; a brother, Peter Beseler Jr. (Dorothy); a sister, Eleanor Moeser (Rhinehold); and two nieces, Eleanor Ann Owens and Alice Moeser.

She was a former employee of the Carpet House and Standard Overall. She enjoyed 15 years in the newborn nursery at King's Daughters Medical Center and two years in home health, from which she retired.

She was an active and faithful servant of Bethel Lutheran Church in Russell, Ky. She enjoyed her family and friends and had traveled to every state except Hawaii.

In addition to her husband, Robert, she is survived by a son, Charles McGinnis (Kathy) of Waskom, Texas; a daughter, Connie Williams (Paul) of Sedalia, Mo.; four grandchildren, Dorrie Ray, Angela Robinson (Patrick), Tracy Diamond (Steven) and Robert Williams (Claire); a nephew, Peter "Chris" Beseler III; 10 great-grandchildren; two stepgranddaughters, Athea Cook (Daniel) and Stesha Cook; and five great-stepgrandchildren.

Visitation will be from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 11, 2005. A celebration of her life will be at Steen Funeral Home-Central Avenue Chapel in Ashland at 11 a.m. Monday, Sept. 12. Entombment will be in Ashland Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Bethel Lutheran Church, 1351 Diederich Blvd., Russell, KY 41169, or to Community Hospice, 1538 Central Ave., Ashland, KY 41101.

my deepest condolences to you Bob and the rest of your family, I read the Independent on line and saw Grace's obit, I am Andy Hensley's oldest daughter and was always told my sister Grace Elizabeth was named after Grace. I have often wandered about the people I knew and loved as a kid. Again my deepest sympathy to you and yours. Mary Lee
