Paul Leonard Burks, 86, of Argillite, Ky., died Saturday, Sept. 10, 2005, at his residence following an extended illness.
Mr. Burks was born Dec. 16, 1918, in Amherst County, Va., a son of the late Marcus C. and Anna Belle Farrar Burks.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Garnett Lockwood Burks, in 1989; a son-in-law, Roger Williams; and two brothers, Maxie Burks and Albert Burks.
He was an electrician for Semet-Solvay with 41 years of service.
Surviving are a son, Paul L. Burks Jr., and his wife, Shirley, of Blaine, Ky.; three daughters, Betty Jean Boggs and her husband, Paul, of Davenport, Fla., Patricia Ann Lutz and her husband, Bill, of Orlando, Fla., and Garnett Louise Burks Williams; and a sister, Virginia McGann of Madison Heights, Va.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 14, 2005, at Steen Funeral Home-Central Avenue Chapel in Ashland by the Rev. Charles E. Stewart. Burial will be in Golden Oaks Memorial Gardens in Ashland.
Visitation will be after 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
