Phyllis Ann (Johnson) Setterman - 1934-2005

Phyllis Ann (Johnson) Setterman, 71, of Ashland, Ky., passed away Sunday, Sept. 25, in Our Lady of Bellefonte Hospital following a sudden illness.

She was born Feb. 28, 1934, in Andover, Mass., to the late Gustav Rudolph Johnson and Aurora (Brouillard) Johnson.

Phyllis was a volunteer at Our Lady of Bellefonte Hospital for about 20 years and was a past president of the Ladies Auxiliary there. She was a member and volunteer at First United Methodist Church in Ashland since 1984 and greatly enjoyed sending birthday, anniversary and get-well cards to members of the church and friends.

She was preceded in death by her sister, Bertha Johnson Pouillot; her brothers, Albert "Buddy" Johnson and Wilfred "Will" Johnson; and her granddaughter, Mindy Anne Stebner.

Surviving are her loving husband, Donald J. Setterman; children Steven Don Setterman and wife Tina, Linda Susan Erickson, Laurie Beth Howard and Leslie Karen Gross; brother Roger Johnson and wife Ruth Ann; grandchildren Jenny Swanson Maurer and husband William, Shelly Beth Humphrey and husband Jesh, Jessie McGibbon and husband Jim and Eric Robert Gross; five great-grandchildren; and many other nieces, nephews, family and friends.

She was a loving mother and grandmother and will be greatly missed and was loved by all who knew her.

A memorial service will be Thursday, Sept. 29, 2005, at 11 a.m. at Steen Funeral Home-Central Avenue Chapel in Ashland and officiated by the Rev. Donald Young and the Rev. Blanchard Amstutz.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Friends may make contributions to the First United Methodist Church Mission Fund, 1811 Carter Ave., Ashland, KY 41101.
