I too knew Aunt Helen all of my life. I knew her and Uncle John L well from a young age as we all vacationed to Myrtle Beach together once and sometimes twice a year. Even after my Mema (my grandmother and her sister, Ora Lee) passed away we remained in close contact. Her and Unlce John L would always stop by my house to deliver Kit Kat bars, and Helen even continued the tradition with my sister Mary Beth after Uncle John L had passed. Aunt Helen always told me I favored her, which I took as a great compliment because even at 79, Aunt Helen was a beautiful woman. Her and John L were both very special people. They will both be missed terribly. As for me, when I think of them I will always smile. I have several good memories of Jungle Golf, Kit Kats, trips to the beach, and several items John L had crafted all with special meanings. I'm sorry that I cannot attend her funeral, but Matt, Josh, Aunt Mable, and the rest of the family are in my prayers. I love you all. - Love Katie

I have known Helen my whole life, she has always been my favorite of all of mom's friends!!! I have loved Helen since the day I was born!! We used to swim together at Breezeland and what fun we had. Everytime I came back to Ashland for a visit to my mom and dads I wanted to go to lunch with Helen. Usually it was Chinese food!!! There was just something about her house I loved, it was just a comfortable feeling for me. I loved you Helen with all my heart!! Love Tracy
