1972 - 2005

Joseph Scott Tomlin, 33, of 1020 Olive St., Flatwoods, KY 41139, died Sunday, Oct. 23, 2005, in Children's Hospital in Columbus, Ohio.

Mr. Tomlin was born Aug. 4, 1972, in Ashland, Ky., a son of the late Talmadge Tomlin and the late Sheila Hall Tomlin.

He was also preceded in death by a sister, Melissa “Missy” Tomlin; and a nephew, Joseph Dakota Tomlin.

Mr. Tomlin was valedictorian of Fairview High School in 1991 and graduated summa cum laude from Morehead State University in 1995.

He was meticulous in everything he did including carpentry, landscaping and home decor.

Surviving are his brothers, Talmadge Tomlin Jr. of Westwood, Charles Tomlin and Becky of Flatwoods and Russell Kyle Tomlin of Catlettsburg; and a special grandmother, Jessie Hall of Westwood.

He is also survived by Vicki Brackman, the love of his life; a niece, Madison Brooke Love; and nephews Benjamin Scott Tomlin and William Chase Love. He is also survived by a faithful companion, his puppy, Mikey.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 27, 2005, at Steen Funeral Home-Marshall Steen Chapel in Ashland by the Rev. Chris Keeton. Burial will be in Dixon Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 26, at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, friends may make contributions to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, Central Ohio Chapter, 960 Kingsmill Parkway, Suite 101, Columbus, OH 43229.
