I'm so sorry to hear of the loss of your mother. I did not know her, but my mother knew her. My mother worked at Fields in the 1980s and was also a member of 1st Methodist. I'm pretty sure they went to high school together. My mother, Phoebe Webb, passed away on Sept. 10 this year her in FLorida where we lived. We took her back to be buried in Ashland with my grandparents, the Hales. She also was at Steen's. I know how you feel and it's strange to describe to anyone else. It seems our mothers should have lived to be older. I'll remember you in my prayers, especially with the holidays coming up. Terri Woodward (Orange Park, FL)

I am sorry I was unable to attend the visitation/funeral. I know my mother thought of Betty as her best friend, even though they were also first cousins. I also wanted to attend because I spent so much time with Karen and Laberta when we were growing up. We have a lot of shared memories, I'm sure. It is always hard to lose a parent, no matter what the circumstances, and I can relate. Call me if you want someone to talk to. 836-5063. I'm usually home after 6 PM.
