Clarice Webb Johnson, 93, of Ashland, Ky., died Tuesday, Nov. 1, 2005, in Kingsbrook Lifecare Center.
She was born May 27, 1912, in Lackey, Ky., a daughter of the late Milton and Mousie Martin Webb.
She was also preceded in death by her husband, Haskell K. Johnson; a brother, John B. Turner; and two sisters, Sally Webb and Faye Turner Burns.
She was a graduate of Morehead State Teachers College. Clarice was a retired schoolteacher who taught in Floyd and Knott counties, Ky., and the Boyd County and Ashland Independent school systems. She was a devoted member of Centenary United Methodist Church and was also active in the Heritage Woman's Club and Daughters of the American Revolution.
Surviving are a daughter, Linda Wonn of Ashland; and two sons, Russell L. Johnson (Jimmie) of Clarkton, N.C., and Robert W. Johnson (Patricia) of Ashland; six grandchildren, Brent Johnson (Andrea) of Sparta, Ky., Jeffrey Johnson (Becky) of Alexandria, Va., Sonya Barber (George) of Clarkton, N.C., Mark Johnson and Rusti Lynn Johnson of Clarkton and Brian Johnson of Lexington, Ky.; a sister, Jeannine Peyton of Louisville, Ky.; and a brother, Billy Turner (Kathy) of Louisville. She is also survived by three great-grandchildren, Jacob, Gabriel and Luke Barber of Clarkton.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Friday, Nov. 4, 2005, at Steen Funeral Home-Marshall Steen Chapel in Ashland with the Rev. Wayne Watts officiating.
Visitation will be an hour before the service. Burial will be in Rose Hill Mausoleum.
