Gwendolyn K. Dailey, 70, of Ashland, Ky., died Nov. 3, 2005, in Our Lady of Bellefonte Hospital.

Mrs. Dailey was born Aug. 16, 1935, in Greenup County, Ky., a daughter of the late Homer Patrick and Lula Dodridge Wolfe.

She was also preceded in death by her husband, Burdette C. Dailey in 2001; and a sister, Dean Hart.

She was a retired school teacher, a member of Kentucky Retired Teachers Association, taught school in the Boyd and Greenup County School Systems and the Ashland School System and a graduate of the University of Kentucky.

She will be deeply missed by all who knew her. She will be most remembered for her deep love for and unwavering dedication to her family.

Surviving are two daughters, Stacy (Joe) Creech of Catlettsburg, Ky., and Kim (Jason) Rhoton of Ashland; two sons, Scott (Jamie) Dailey of Lawrenceburg, Ky., and Chris Dailey of Catlettsburg, Ky.; and eight grandchildren, Joshua Dailey, Jeremy Dailey, Kyle Wilburn, Brad Wilburn, Kirsten Shavers, Kylie Rhoton, Kaden Rhoton and Keyaan Rhoton.

The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 6, 2005, at Steen Funeral Home-Central Avenue Chapel in Ashland by the Rev. C.J. Adkins. Burial will be in Ashland Cemetery.

Friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

Friends may make contributions to Burt Dailey Sports Medicine Scholarship, c/o Paul G. Blazer High School, Blazer Boulevard., Ashland, KY 41102.
