Shirley Mae Canterbury, age 59, of Ashland, Ky., died Friday, Nov. 4, 2005, at her residence.
She was born Feb. 4, 1946, in Lundle, W.Va., a daughter of Margaret Lorraine Wright Canterbury of Wurtland, Ky., and the late Woodrow Wilson Canterbury.
A homemaker, she was of the Baptist faith.
Additional survivors include a son, Jack Vitruls of Wisconsin; five daughters, Leanna Hannah of Wisconsin, Cheryl Menshouse and Tracy Rakes, both of Catlettsburg, Ky., Michelle Stevens of Westwood, Ky., and Corey Withrow, also of Catlettsburg; three brothers, Woodrow Wilson Canterbury Jr. of Summit, Ky., and Herbert Patterson Canterbury and Ralph Larue Canterbury, both of Ashland; three sisters, Helen Esque of Cleveland, Kathleen Marie Lehman of Ashland and Bobbie Carl Pemberton of Boyd County, Ky.; and 13 grandchildren.
A private graveside service will be held Monday, Nov. 7, 2005, at Golden Oaks Memorial Gardens in Ashland by the Rev. Kenneth Vaughn.
Steen Funeral Home-Central Avenue Chapel in Ashland is in charge of arrangements.
