Geneva Hughes, 80, of Flatwoods, formerly of Ashland, died Sunday, Dec. 11, 2005, in Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland.
Mrs. Hughes was born Nov. 15, 1925, in Ashland, a daughter of the late Bill and Grace Walling Vaughn. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd Hughes, in 1980.
Mrs. Hughes was a homemaker and caregiver and was of the Baptist faith.
She is survived by a son, Gary Gene Dixon and his wife, Ethel, of Flatwoods; three sisters, Christine Scarberry and Catherine Highfield, both of Ashland, and Betty Jo Salyers of Greenup; two grandchildren, Gary Allen Dixon of Flatwoods and Lisa Payne of Ashland; and a great-grandson, Landon Joseph Payne of Ashland.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Steen Funeral Home-Central Avenue Chapel by Pastor Tommy Miles. Burial will be in Rose Hill Burial Park.
Friends may call after noon Tuesday at the funeral home.
