David Wayne Thomas, 51, of Ky. 5, Ashland, Ky., died Wednesday, Jan. 15, 2003, in King's Daughters Medical Center in Ashland.
Mr. Thomas was born July 6, 1951, in Ashland, a son of the late Clyde and Una Liebee Thomas.
He was an avid fisherman and hunter and a graduate of Prichard High School with the class of 1969. He was of the Baptist faith and was a ladleman with Kentucky Electric Steel with 33 years of service.
He was also preceded in death by a brother, Bobby Thomas.
Surviving are his wife, Vera Jane Roach Thomas of Ashland; two daughters, Jennifer "J.J." Thomas and Samantha "Sami" Thomas, both at home; a brother, Jim (Karla) Thomas of Barnesville, Ohio; two sisters, Juanita Sue (Gary) Conley of Rush, Ky., and Judy (Glennis) Reynolds of Morehead, Ky.; special friends, Bill and Stephanie Wilburn of Ashland; several nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of good friends.
The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 18, 2003, at Steen Funeral Home-Marshall Steen Chapel in Ashland by the Rev. Roy Roach. Burial will be in Rose Hill Burial Park.
Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
