Rhoda Penix Bolen, 93, of Ashland, Ky., died Sunday, Jan. 19, 2003, in King's Daughters Medical Center.
Mrs. Bolen was born Oct. 6, 1909, in Magoffin County, Ky., a daughter of the late Malcolm and Pearlie Howard Penix.
She was also preceded in death by her husband, Herbert Bolen, in 1981.
A homemaker, she was of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, James David and Sandra Bolen of Ashland; a brother, William Penix of Ashland; five sisters, Katherine Alley of Atlanta, Ga., Ona Mae Barker of Ashland, Verna Boston and Gladys Kolson, both of Baltimore, Md., and Betty Miller of Bridgewater, N.J.; and two grandchildren, J. David Bolen of Ashland and Jennifer (Kenneth) Hunter of Boonesboro, Ky.
The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 22, at Steen Funeral Home-Ashland Chapel by the Rev. Harold Berrian. Burial will be in Rose Hill Burial Park.
Friends may call from 6 to 8 tonight at the funeral home.
