Opal Marie Pope - 1925-2008
Opal Marie Pope, 83, of Ashland, Ky., died Oct. 28, 2008, in Boyd Nursing and Rehabilitation Center following a brief illness.
She was born June 19, 1925, in Carter County, Ky., a daughter of the late Lewis and Lillian R. Littleton Pope.
She was also preceded in death by a brother, Chester R. Pope.
She was a retired telephone operator at General Telephone with 37 years of service.
Surviving are a sister, Anna Lee Pope of Ashland; nephews Stephen Pope and Mark Pope; nieces Susan Staton and Mary Beth Pope; and aunts Faye Burnett and June Littleton.
The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Friday, Oct. 31, 2008, at Steen Funeral Home-Central Avenue Chapel in Ashland by John Moore. Burial will be in Rose Hill Burial Park.
